Obituary of Oluf Ingwart Wold

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Oluf Ingwart Wold, a long time resident of Fourth Creek. He passed away in Spirit River, AB on May 12, 2014 at the age of 75 years. He was born at Johanna’s (midwife) in Sexsmith, AB on Sept. 17, 1938. He attended the Chatham and La Glace Schools until he was 15. He then worked with his Dad on the farm. In 1955 he got his own homestead in Fourth Creek. He loved working on the land. Oluf was a man of many talents; a self-taught carpenter, mechanic, electrician, and welder. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever family or friends needed. He touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by all. He married Bernice Gano in 1958 and they were blessed with two children. They separated in 1972. He is survived by his son: Doug (Charlene), grandchildren Blair, Derek (Ashley), and Craig ; daughter Diane (Ken) Blois, grandchildren Cindy and Trevor. He is also survived by his sister Marie (Woody) Schultz, sister-in-law Joyce, brother-in-law Roy (Carol) Gano and nieces and nephews. Oluf was predeceased by his parents, John and Hedwig, brothers Carl (infant) and Walter, mother and father in-law, Guy and Alice Gano, brother-in-law Ted and his wife Peggy Gano. Funeral services will be held May 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Savanna School auditorium with Pastor Floyd Anderson officiating. Interment at the Alexview Cemetery.
