Obituary of Roselene Lobban
Rose was born March 18th, 1932 to Frank and Effie Lockwood in Edmonton, AB. She was the youngest daughter in a family of ten. Rose is predeceased of all but one now, Al Lockwood, who resides in Edmonton. Rose is survived by her sons Guy (Roseanna), Don (Connie) and Mark (Pam), 10 grandchildren – Dennis, Tammy, Tanya, Terry; Eric, Amy, Leanne and Serina, Carleigh, Cassandra, 3 great grandchildren – Addison, Kalysta and Keston.
Rose was a hard worker and a dedicated employee. She raised her family and worked fulltime at various jobs including Proctor & Gamble at its inception in the early 1970’s and then at the Canfor Plywood plant for over 17 years. She had fond memories of her work life there and missed her fellow employees when the plant closed in 1991.
After her retirement, Rose spent much of her time gardening in her yard and visiting with family. She never missed an opportunity to be generous and thoughtful. Rose spent many memorable days celebrating birthdays and holidays with her grandchildren.
Rose also loved springtime and flowers. Her little dog Missy was always by her side and a great companion for her. Rose will be remembered as a caring, strong, inspirational woman. She never complained and met life’s challenges head on. She had a positive outlook and handled life’s situations with dignity, fortitude and tough mindedness.
Rose passed away on March 28th, 2013 at the Points West Hospice. There will be a celebration of her life this summer by the Peace River at Dunvegan Park – a place Rose loved, a place for gardens, flowers and family.
