Yvonne Carol Schneider (nee Hanson) August 15, 1949 – May 22, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Carol Schneider (nee Hanson) at her home in Kelowna, BC May 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Survived by her husband Wayne Schneider of 38 years, and 2 sons, Kai (Celeste) of Kamloops, BC and Jordon (Lisa) of Victoria, BC. Three grandchildren, Mackena, Elis and Maelle; Brothers: Larry (Mabel) Hanson of Valhalla Centre, Ernest Hanson of Victoria, Ralph Hanson of Grande Prairie: Sister: Eldine (Glenn) Kjemhus of Hythe: Sister in law Shirley Napen Hanson Uncle: Clarence (Mona) Velve; Talbert (Inger) Velve Aunt: Marj Velve, Lorene Benkie, Ilene (Fred) Schenk Nieces: Carla (Barry)Wallan-Camryn & Jensyn; Veronica (Troy ) Tews –Ty and Tory, and Tayah; Amy (Ken) Waterman-Brynn and Will; Christie Hanson-Kya & Kianna; Krista (Jared) Hope-Kenzee and Gradey; Ashley (Chuck) Spry and Ryker; Kayla Hanson Nephews: Jonathon (Ashley) Hanson; Greg (Kerri) Kjemhus-Logan and Matthew and Sarah; Dane Hanson Wayne’s Mother: Rene Schneider: Brother in Law: Warren (Charla) Schneider; Curly (Mert) Schneider. Many friends and family members. Yvonne is predeceased by her Mother, Evelyn Hanson(nee Velve); Father Martin Hanson; Brother Ashley Hanson; Sister Beatrice Hanson; Great Nephew Kayde Nelson Kjemhus. Yvonne grew up on the family farm in Valhalla Centre, AB, fostering a love of horseback riding and various sports. After completeing high school, Yvonne went to obtain a degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta. Yvonne moved to BC to practise her profession, working first in Kamloops, North Vancouver, then Vernon, where she met husband and friend, Wayne. After their marriage, Yvonne and Wayne settled in the Mission area of Kelowna and raised their sons Kai and Jordon. Yvonne was a friend to so many and loved by all. She had an ability to connect with others, no matter the circumstance, and genuinely cared for her community and peers. Yvonne loved her work. She loved the people she worked with and the difference she made to the patients who needed her expertise. Throughout the 35 years in the Kelowna Physio Field, mostly Kelowna General, Yvonne helped countless individuals on their path to wellness with over 40 years of her physio career. The patients and co-workers made her love going to work every day. The relationships made throughout the years were very dear to Yvonne whether it was Work, Church, Tennis, Badminton, Softball, Cycling, Skiing, Hiking, Camping, Travelling, Trips to the Farm. The world was her playground, loving the valuable time with friends and family. Yvonne treasured music, played the guitar and piano. A family favorite, “Ja Jist a Little Lefse” was often heard at family gatherings. Yvonne so Joyfully attended the Valhalla Centre & Hanson Family 100th Birthday where she had such wonderful visits. Yvonne also planned a trip this past March. Yvonne, Eldine, Larry and Mabel and Ralph met at Ernie’s where we got to see Yvonne SHOW off her granddaughter Makena (Jordon and Lisa) and also see Jon, Ashley, Christie, Kya and Kianna. YVONNE WAS SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO ALL, WE WILL CHERISH THAT TRIP FOREVER AS SHE WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER! A Celebration of Yvonne’s life was held May 27, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church Kelowna, BC.
