March 30, 1979 - November 11, 2016 Dallas John Gerk, 37, passed away suddenly at home in Calgary, AB, on November 11, 2016. He was born on March 30, 1979, in Peace River, AB. He spent most of his youth in Grande Prairie before moving to Calgary in 1999. Dallas had a big personality with a witty sense of humour. He had a soft spot for animals and kids, and was still a big kid at heart. He was always willing to lend a hand and treated everyone like family. Dallas will be sadly missed by his parents, Conrad Gerk and Ellen Gerk; sister Charmaine (Mark) Moeller; nephew Kevin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be especially missed by his little Chihuahua Fritz. Dallas was predeceased by his grandparents Peter & Margaret Gerk and John & Frances Schur. A Celebration of Life will take place in Calgary on January 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Country Hills Crematorium. A Celebration of Life in Grande Prairie will follow on January 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank.
