Obituary of Shayla Nicole Salacki
Shayla Salacki, 19, Sexsmith area
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, Shayla Nicole Salacki, on December 1, 2016. Shayla was a sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She cherished all aspects of family life, and appreciated all gatherings.
God brought our beautiful daughter Shayla into the world on July 11, 1997. She lived on a family farm near Sexsmith, Alberta with her parents Ken and Arlene Salacki, and her younger brother Kale. Shayla loved the country way of life and all outdoor activities, but riding horses was her favorite pastime. She embraced farm work, had a passion for animals, and always made sure to spend quality time with her pets.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School from kindergarten through to grade eight, and was an active parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Church in Sexsmith. For grade nine through twelve, she attended Sexsmith Secondary School and then she graduated in May of 2015. Shayla loved learning, playing volleyball, organizing school spirit activities, and socializing with her large group of wonderful friends.
Shayla was currently enrolled in her second year at the University of Alberta, taking Nursing. She was kindred spirit, and a true caregiver, who would do anything for anyone. Shayla was predeceased by her Grandfather Wesley Salacki, Uncle Lawrence Salacki, Uncle Adam Salacki, Uncle Dave Connolly, Aunt Christie Konschuh, and Uncle Perry Konschuh.
Prayer service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Sexsmith, AB on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at 7:00pm.
Funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 10404 – 102 Street in Grande Prairie, AB on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at 11:00am.
Shayla touched many hearts deeply with all of her love and compassion. In lieu of memorial donations, please give a Random Act of Kindness to an entire family, friend, or loved one.
Shayla you were such a precious girl, we were truly blessed to experience your glorious nature for such a short time.
