Obituary of Jason Scott West
Jason SCOTT West was born in Camrose August 11, 1972 to Bob and Delores (nee Kisslinger) West. He passed away suddenly at home in Wembley on December 26, 2016 due to a major heart attack.
Scott spent his childhood in Camrose and Grande Cache with his parents and sister Michelle, and raised his own family in Grande Prairie and Wembley. He was predeceased by his father Bob in 2001 and is survived by his mother Delores, daughters Zoe Chaffee, Jade and Brianna West and their mother Lindsay Hanson, sisters Michelle Knight (Darren) and Coleen West (Robert Olivier), brothers Bob West (Gail) and Murray DeVoss (Marc), five nieces, four nephews and many dear friends.
Scott had many fond memories of growing up in Grande Cache and he maintained contact over the years with his special friends from that area. He was a beloved uncle, and he had a very special relationship with his nephew Mahlon who shared so many of his interests, and his nieces Ashley, Jenna, and Tanika who received both his tormenting and his wonderful “I’m not done yet” hugs. His nephews Dallas and Tyrel were welcome and frequent visitors, and although distance separated him from his nephew Jonathan and nieces Jacqueline and Jennifer, his heart and home were always open to them. Scott will be remembered by all for his loving and kind spirit, his commitment to his family and friends, his great sense of humour, and as the quintessential sesquipedalian.
As per his wishes, Scott will be cremated and his remains scattered in the Grande Cache area in the summer. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday January 7th at 2 pm at Mission Heights Church of Christ, 8321 Mission Heights Drive, Grande Prairie.
