Obituary of Eleanor B Mann

Eleanor was born in Choteau, Montana. Two days after her birth, she came in a wagon train that arrived near Pend. O. Orielle, Alberta; along with her family, and her two brothers; Floyd (Elinor) Snortland, and Roy (Mable) Snortland, along with her sister Vi (Bill) Biesterfeldt. She worked as a teacher and school bus driver, before meeting her husband, Newell Mann, of over 61 years. They married December 5, 1948 around the Cardston AB area, and had seven children; Newella (Billy) Gazdag, Diane (Lloyd) Jobson, Greg, Garry, Russell (Sam), Randy, and Curtis (Ester). After having their children, they made their way to Spirit River, AB, where they raised their children and farmed in the area. She later had fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Newell in 2010, father Art, and mother Gladys, brother Roy in 2005, sister Doris, and grandson Terry. Eleanor loved spending her time volunteering with the legion, substitute teaching, playing hours of cards, traveling when she could, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved playing the banjo with her band The Polka Dots. Most of all, her true love was her children. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 1, 2014 at 2 pm at the Salvation Army Church, located at 9525 83rd Avenue, Grande Prairie AB, T8V 6V1.
