Obituary of Viola Ruth Velve

January 22, 1925 - January 12, 2017 Viola was born at Leader, Saskatchewan on January 22, 1925, the 3rdof 9 children. In 1931 the family moved to Oyen, Alberta. After graduating high school Viola attended Bible School in Camrose where she met her future husband. Viola trained as a Nursing Aid then worked at the Pouce Coupe Hospital. In 1955 she married Julian and started her life as a farm wife. Julian and Viola moved to Grande Prairie in 1999 where she resided until her passing. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Julian, son Dwain (Marcelle), grandson Niklas, daughter Esther (Aubrey) Heggelund, siblings Victor (Dorothy) Wenzel, Vivian McElhinney, Ivor (Susie) Wenzel, Lyla Rutherford and numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law Carl Johnson and Jim Thygesen and sister-in-law Grace Wenzel. Viola was predeceased by her mother and father Elsa and Adolf Wenzel, sisters Renata Johnson and Berniece Thygesen, brothers Theodore and Leland, and brothers-in-law Carol Rutherford and Bill McElhinney, and sister-in-law Inger Velve. A Funeral Service for Viola will be held on Friday, January 20 at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9929-105 Avenue, Grande Prairie.
