Obituary of Beryl Mary Curtiss

Beryl Mary Curtiss (nee Erickson) Beryl Mary Curtiss, 66, of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away March 20, 2017 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Beryl was born in Rimbey, Alberta to Leonard and Bernice Erickson on December 2, 1950. She went to school in Crestomere, and high school at Ponoka High School. Beryl married Bob Curtiss July 18, 1969. The family moved to the Peace Country in 1972, later settling on a homestead near Demmitt, operating a large hog farm. Beryl was a full time farmer and homemaker. In 1991 they moved to a farm near Grande Prairie where Beryl continued in her passion for gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, grandkids, road trips, reading, board games and spending time with her family. Beryl was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Curtiss, father Leonard Erickson, and brother Douglas Erickson. Beryl is survived by her mother Bernice Erickson (of Rimbey); sister Fran Muncaster (of Edmonton); son Doug Curtiss; daughters Patricia Curtiss and Theresa Curtiss (Derek Kercher); four grandchildren Alisha Curtiss, Dorian Massier, Kate Wolchyn and Spencer Curtiss. Viewing will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home (103, 10920 84 Avenue) in Grande Prairie on March 24, 2017 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Graveside service will be held at Grande Prairie Cemetery on March 25 at 11:00 am for family and close friends. Memorial service will be held at Peoples Church (11850 108 Street in Grande Prairie) on March 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bob Bidwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ca or Ducks Unlimited www.ducks.ca.
