Obituary of Olga Violet Keebler
Olga Violet Keebler (nee Gawryluk), born October 7, 1933 at home on the farm in Ksituan, AB passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River at the age of 83.
Olga is mourned and will be missed always by her husband Herb of 63 years and daughter Carlyn (Gary) Dahl and son Doug (Karen) Keebler and grandsons, Alex and Nathan Keebler as well as her sisters Shirley Yanishewski and Elsie (Mike) Gelata and her extended family and many friends.
Olga was predeceased by her parents Edith and Fred Gawryluk and her sister Ruby Zyla and brother Gordon Gawryluk.
Olga attended school in Ksituan and Spirit River. She met and married Herb in Spirit River and raised her two children there. Olga had various jobs in Spirit River including waitressing, AGT telephone operator, working at the theatre, helping Herb at United Radio and TV and house-painting with her sister Shirley. Olga enjoyed volunteering with the Cuisine Club of Spirit River for many years and looked forward to golfing season and her garden and yard work. She especially enjoyed visits from friends, sisters and her niece, Linda for a daily coffee.
A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Spirit of Peace United Church in Spirit River (4902 45 Ave.). Please join the family for refreshments afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Olga’s memory to the Central Peace Health Complex Auxiliary (P.O. Box 339 Spirit River, AB T0H 3G0), or to a charity of your choice.
