Obituary of Joseph M. C. Mazo
It is with great sorrow that the family of Joseph Marie Mazo announces his passing. He peacefully passed away on December 9, 2014 at the age of 89.
Joseph was one of eleven born to Marie Ann and Yve Mazo on November 11, 1925 in Plavon, Finistere, France. Joseph came to Canada by boat in 1949, where he continued across Canada, by train, to Rycroft Alberta. Joseph proceeded to settle and start his own homestead farm by Eaglesham.
In 1957 Joseph was married to Hilda Thibeault and they began to grow their family with the birth of their three children Celest, Rene, and Johanne. Joseph also loved his little dog; Princess. In 1997 Joseph and Hilda moved to Grande Prairie where he began retirement.
Joseph is survived by his sisters; Marie Bihannic, Bernadette Mazo, Lizette Mazo, brothers; Pierre, Henney, and Jean. He is also survived by his wife Hilda Mazo, his 3 children Celest (Doug Olsenburg), Rene (Babe) Mazo, Johanne (Richard Leman), and his four grandchildren; Brent and Darren Kshyk, and Monica and Eric Leman.
Joseph is pre-deceased by his brother Jean-Marie Mazo, and his three sisters Celestine Mazo, Theresa LeGoff, and Marie-Jean Mazo.
As per his request, there will be no funeral service. Josephs’ remains will be laid to rest in Eaglesham summer of 2015.
