Ingrid Maria Johnson (Jenne)
October 22, 1936 - June 3, 2017
Ingrid went to be with the Lord at the age of 80.
Ingrid was born in Prosau, Czechoslovakia. After the war, the family had to leave their homeland (Sudetenland) and were taken to West Germany. She took her schooling in Riede, then she went to high school in Sand. After she graduated, she took her training in Merxhausen in a mental hospital where she was a Reg. Psych Nurse. After 2 years, she worked in Kassel in a mental hospital for a while before taking Massage Therapy. While at massage school, she met her first husband, Rudolf Jenne. They immigrated to Canada in 1959, their first stop being Calgary, Alta; where their only son was born. They then moved to Red Deer, where Ingrid worked at Mitchener Center for 12 years. In 1975, they went to Wembley where Rudolf farmed and Ingrid worked at the hospital and Swan Haven Nursing Home, until Rudolf passed away in 1984. She took on the job of manager at Heritage & Pioneer Lodge for 12 years. In 1988, she married Lester Johnson, they lived in Teepee Creek, then moved to Grande Prairie.
Ingrid was predeceased by her first husband, Rudolf Jenne; her parents, Andreas & Anna Pfroetschner; grandparents, Josef & Aloisia Prokop; and several Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins in Germany.
She will be missed by her husband, Lester; son, Andy (Maxine), Larry (Gloria), Andy (Fran); her grandchildren, Ryder (Jasmine), Rita (James), Darren (Sherene), Jennifer (Kelly), Amber (Scott), Christopher, Michael; and all her Great-Grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers donations in Ingrid’s name may be made to the Grande Spirit Foundation – Heritage Lodge
As per Ingrid’s request, there will be no formal funeral. A Graveside Service with family and close friends will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wembley. There will be a luncheon to follow at 3:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church 10407 100 St, Grande Prairie.
