Jane and family, our condolences on Don's passing. We have spent the past days reminiscing on our years of knowing both Jane and Don. I remember the summer he was diagnosed (1991) and think of all the wonderful years of living that followed. We always felt that friends were important to Don as he and Jane made a point of visiting with us when they made their annual pilgrimage to Vancouver Island. Last year they arrived with a mile high apple pie! We loved Don's quiet manner, his thoughtful manner, and hearing his knowledgeable opinions on a wide range of topics. His sense of humour, twinkly eyes and warm smile were always present. Our hearts are with you. Coleen & Mark

We are sorry to see a good man leave this earth. Don was only ever kind and soft spoken in my presence, and I know you, his family, will miss him dearly. You are in our thoughts as you grieve, just as he was, often, these last few months. He changed our life by starting that little company and then letting us carry it on. I enjoyed my time spent with him as he taught us what he knew, and encouraged me that we would find our own ways also, which was true. Rest in peace, freind.

Our condolences to Don's family. We have fond memories of Don with his grand children from Steve and Kathy and his occasional visit to Victoria. Always happy smiles from him as he enjoyed his family will be sorrily missed. His suffering is over and that's a good thing but our hearts go out to his widow Jane as she embarks on a new path. His children were so supportive during this difficult time and healing will be made more gratifying knowing they did a good job.

Don, I can still see you descending the stairs into the basement and complimenting me on the workmanship of the Eastdowne basement in progress at that visit. The work is complete now. I have never known anyone who travelled as frequently as did you and Jane everywhere on the highway by car. You saw more of the countryside in a shorter time than others do in a lifetime. Liam, now 8, is at the age that he always will cherish and immortalize you as his paternal grandfather. Mable will wonder where Grandpa went. Till we all meet again!

Jane and family, This is a wonderful written tribute to Don. I too loved his smile❤️ Jane and Don's wedding was a most memorable occasion! 32 years! I've so enjoyed my visits with you and enjoyed a remarkable "city" garden, great "cooking", a stellar sense of humour and a welcoming love of friendship!
