Obituary of Edith Amy Walker

Edith Walker, age 93, passed away peacefully Thursday November 16, 2017 at Points West Care facility in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Edith was born in Cranbrook British Columbia, during her early years she lived in Wardner until 1935 when her family moved to Fort Steele. At age 16, Edith moved to Victoria and attended a young women's finishing school. Soon after she met George Walker whom she married November 13, 1942.

Edith enjoyed reading, artwork, singing and playing music. Her family especially enjoyed listening to her playing the mandolin that she received as a young girl. Her children and grandchildren spent many times sitting and listening to her telling stories about her early years in Wardner and Fort Steele.

Left to cherish Edith's memory are George her loving husband of 75 years; her sons Dennis, Russell (Esther), Ken, Randy and daughters Lorraine, Joan, Janet (Lloyd), Christine, daughter-in-law Lynda; 26 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. 

Edith was predeceased by her parents Lee and Albina Rader; her son Martin; her brothers Morase, Harold, and Robert; her sisters Helen, Mary, Annie and Irene.                                                                            

A memorial service for Edith will be held at a later date.
