Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Bailey

March 29, 1941 - December 18, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marion Elizabeth Bailey. Marion was born on March 29, 1941 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 18, 2017 at the age of 76 years.

Marion grew up in the small hamlet of Langdon, Alberta. In 1971 she moved to the Webster area with her husband Peter and their four children.

Mom loved children, and after moving to the City of Grande Prairie she began a babysitting service from her home and continued to do that for many years. She also had a passion for baking and this earned her a reputation as the "Bun" lady. She was always very busy at Christmas time, baking buns and various delicious trays of goodies for her regular customers.

In 1982 Marion married Roger Bailey and moved to the hamlet of Clairmont, where they lived until January 2017. At that time, they moved into the City of Grande Prairie.

Marion is survived by her loving husband, Roger; four children, Cindy (Irvin), Wendy, Linda (Wes), Wally (Christine); step-son, Doug (Chantel); 13 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren.

Marion is pre-deceased by her parents, Margaret and Peter Seerup; brothers, Dick Cooper, and Nels Seerup; and sister-in-law, Vickie Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Webster Community hall at 2:00 PM on January 16, 2018. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
