Obituary of Winnifred Ellen Anderson

July 30, 1926 - January 9, 2018

Win was a long-time resident of Grande Prairie. She passed away on January 9, 2018 at 91 years of age.

Win was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba. She worked at Canadian National Railway until she was married in 1951. She belonged to the Catholic Church, the CWL, and the Royal Purple. In Grande Prairie she worked at United Mobile Homes and Menzies Printing. Reading was one of Win’s great passions. She was a loving wife, and mother; a devoted grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother.

Win will be sadly missed by her children, Frances (Ervin) Schultz, Allen (Reubens) Anderson, Alice (Greg) Arthur, Paul (Martha) Anderson, Eric (Joan) Anderson, and Marc (Nieves) Anderson; she will be remembered by her 14 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law; as well as her many friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Frank Anderson; her parents, Lawrence and Alice Pickard; her brother, Frank; and her sister, Doreen.

A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
