Obituary of Norman Alexander Foster

Norman Alexander Foster

June 25, 1957 – January 16, 2018

With sad hearts we said good-bye to Norm Foster, who lost his 4-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The angels came to take him home where he will be free from his wheelchair and no longer in pain. As a family we will miss you and we hope the angels enjoy your sense of humor. Sending you love, and may you rest in peace.

Norm was born (a twin) at the Grande Prairie Hospital on June 25, 1957. He lived with his family at Bad Heart, Alberta, where he attended school at Teepee Creek until age 10. The family moved to Grande Prairie, and he continued school until grade 9. He moved to Clearbrook/Aldergrove area in B.C. for high school.

He returned to Grande Prairie where he settled and made his home, working where he could. He made good friends and lived his life out, enjoying pastimes like music and painting.

Anyone that knew him, knew him as a free spirit, with a warm heart and a great sense of humour.

He was a good son, brother, uncle and friend!

Norm is survived by his brother, Keith Foster (Lynn); his sisters, Cheryl Binks (Dennis), Merry Ann Larka (Andy), Norma Adcock (Sandy), and Nila Jean McGuire (Bill); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Egbert (Bert) Foster; his mother, Nila Foster; step-father Don Sutherland, brother Charles (Charlie) Foster, and nephew, Brian Larka.

Norm was cremated on January 18, 2018. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
