Obituary of Gordon Bjorn Bjornson

December 17, 1960 – January 21, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one on January 21, 2018 and words cannot express the feelings in our hearts.  Gordon was born in Westlock, Alberta on December 17, 1960 and he passed away peacefully at his home in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 57. Gordon fought a courageous battle against his illness and the many times that Gordon was winning the battle were wonderful times that left us all with treasured memories.

Gordon was raised in High Level, Alberta where he attended school.  He worked with his father, Peter driving truck and he also taught Gordon the tricks of the trade in carpentry which eventually became his trade. Gordon was a very skilled carpenter.

Gordon was predeceased by his twin brother, Glen Bjornson, his father, Peter Bjornson and his mother  Rose Bjornson.  He is survived by his sister Hazel Bjornson (companion Geoff) and family, sister Margaret Bjornson and family, brother Bruce Bjornson and family, sister Linda Bjornson, brother Sidney Bjornson and family and wife Sharlene Bjornson and family.

Thank you to friends and family who have been such a wonderful support during this time and a special thank you to Doug and the staff at Bear Creek Funeral Home for their thoughtful consideration and guidance in making this painful process much easier.

A Memorial Service for Gordon will be held at 3:00pm on March 2, 2018 at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie.  Interment will be in the summer where he will be laid to rest with his brother, Glen.
