It is with great sadness I heard of the passing of Mrs. Ballard. She was my firat school memory of grade 1. She made learning and school so exciting for me. I wanted to please an impress her so much. Just to see her smile made you feel special. I had her agin in grade 5. Her enthusiasm never died. I am only sorry I never had the chance to let her know how much she meant to me as a teacher. How much she inspired kids to be better than what they were. The world lost a true gemstone. A shining star.

Mrs.Ballard was my grade 3 teacher at Parkside school in 1982. I was a little Metis girl from a broken home. My mother was an alcoholic and I was in and out of foster homes. Mrs Ballard was so kind and loving to me. When she saw I was coming to school with no lunch she started bringing extra and invited me to have lunch with her. She always told me how smart and creative I was. She made me feel like I mattered. When I get to heaven I will be sure to search her out to thank her personally. My condolences to all who loved her. God bless.

Vicki was a dear dear friend whom I will greatly miss! It was always a happy day when she could sub for me and I could leave my students in her skilled and caring hands. She was always ready to go that extra mile (or two!). That radiant smile that bubbled out her eyes and the depth and sincerity of her caring was felt by all those around her. We send our sincere condolences to the family.

So saddened to hear of Vicki's sudden passing. She came from our community of Goodwin and was always an enthusiastic community member. Visitors to Ballard Aparies were greeted by her ready smile & friendliness. Vicki was a sub teacher for many of our grandchildren at Bezanson & Ridgevalley schools & always, when you met her, had a fond amusing memory to pass along. She had a most interesting & arresting face...her eyes! Here in GP she owned property in the same cul du sac. We always looked forward to her visits. Sincerest sympathy to her boys & families & her siblings.

Our deepest condolences & heartfelt thoughts to the family during this extremely difficult time. Vicki was so inspirational to so many of us in the teaching profession!
A genuine & gentle soul who taught so many so much! People of all ages were just naturally drawn to Vicki. She made a remarkable & indelible difference in the lives she touched along the way! She will never be forgotten by those of us who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Mrs. Ballard was my grade 6 teacher many years ago at Alexander Forbes School. I have always remembered her as an immensely caring and gentle soul whose eyes would twinkle when she laughed. She cared deeply for her students and always beamed with pride when she told us stories about her sons. My deepest condolences to all her family.

Vicki is missed terribly and I loved seeing her in Bezanson's halls, consulting with me on a lesson or child where "the you're not special" speech became a classic with her and Lisa, and I have never seen anyone so enthusiastically try badly to play Rock- Paper-Scissors on a Fun Friday! Honey has new meaning my dear "sweet" friend!

Very sorry to read of Vicki's passing. Over the many years that she was a substitute teacher in Bezanson, she was very much loved by the students and staff alike. She always remembered every student and their names, even if it had been month's since she covered a class. Thoughts and prayers to the family during this time
