It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of James Lawrence Leeson, who passed on March 9th, in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. Jamie was born in Little Current in 1956. He lived most of his life in Elliot Lake where he raised his family and made wonderful friendships. Jamie began working at Denison Mines Ltd. while still in high school. He worked in the mill and remained in that position until the mine shut down. Jamie then worked as a labourer until he moved to Grande Prairie to be with his family. Jamie spent the majority of his free time cutting wood or pittering in his shed. He loved being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Heather; his daughters, Melanie, Sheri, and Kristy; son-in- laws, Kevin Barry, Ryan Goff, and Brooks Messier; grandchildren Declan and Lilah; his brother, Randy, and his father, Calvin. Predeceased by his mother, Betty Leeson. A Celebration of his Life will be held on March 28th at 4:00 p.m. at 8709 Willow Drive, Grande Prairie.
