Obituary of William Linden
August 12, 1935 – September 17, 2018
William (Willy, Bill) Antony Linden passed away on Monday, September 17 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital at the age of 83 years.
Willy was born the eldest of 3 children to Tony & Frances Linden, on August 12, 1935. As a child, Willy loved the farm, wood and metal works. He attended elementary school and high school in Grande Prairie.
In the summer of ’54 Willy met the love of his life, Edna Stevenson. They married the following July and in March of ’56 their daughter, Sheryle Anne was born.
Willy and Edna settled in Dimsdale, AB. and he spent his years farming, building and fabricating in his shop. He enjoyed travelling, family vacations in the motorhome and short winter get- a- ways to Hawaii.
As health issues arose, travel and shop time turned to hours in the bobcat and watching the great grandkids play.
Willy will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Edna; daughter Sheryle (Allan) Benson; grandson Troy (Tabitha) Benson; granddaughter Amy; great grandchildren Jaydan, Cache, Deklin, Ivy and Odin Benson; sister Jean (Bob) Stevenson, and brother Carl (Maureen) Linden as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Frances Linden.
A Viewing for Willy will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 7pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Center, 11802 99 Ave, Grande Prairie.
Funeral service for Willy will take place at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Center on Sunday, September 23 at 2:30pm.
A reception will follow at Dimsdale Hall.
