Obituary of Rose Mae Brace
August 1, 1944 – September 24, 2018/
It is with heavy hearts that we mournfully announce the passing of Rosealie (Rose) Mae Brace. She peacefully passed away unexpectedly at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta on September 24th, 2018.
Rose went to school in Peace River where she grew up and moved to Fairview, where she worked as a waitress and where she met her husband Ed Thomsen. They then moved to Grande Prairie and raised their family. Rose worked at Zellers for many years as well as Weyerhauser and the provincial government where she retired from. She loved to go to dances, play golf, softball, go to Bingos, travelling, horseback riding, sewing and making wedding gowns. She also loved to work in kitchens for bingos and golf courses and working in her flower beds
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her children Violet, Connie (John), and Darryl, Brother Ken, Sister Dorothy, Patty, Sheri, Jodi and Lori, grandkids Colten (Stacey) and Tyler (Tina), Shalena Rose, great grandkids Blake, Ryder and Jaxson, brother-in-law Theodore, sisters-in-law Donna, Geraldine, Betty, Evelyn, Shirley, Louise, Lorna and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Ed Thomsen, brother Gary Riczu, parents Mike and Pauline, Henry and Ivy Thomsen, brothers-in-law Jim Young, John, Martin, Len and Tom; and sisters-in-law Emily and Lydia.
A Celebration of Rose’s life will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 90079 Twp Rd 712, Wembley, AB
