Obituary of Robert Kimpe

Robert (Bob) Kimpe (June 28, 1928 – March 31, 2015) Bob was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Eleuther and Yvonne Kimpe. He resided in the Grande Prairie area from the age of two years. Bob was a man of many talents. He was a farmer, cat skinner, mechanic, and overall handy man. He loved the great outdoors and all things in nature. In 1955, Bob married the girl next door, Joyce Hutt. Together they raised six daughters. When Bob retired he pursued his passions of reading, fishing, travelling, and gathering with friends for coffee. Bob’s greatest talent was husband, father, and grandfathers. Bob passed away at the age of eighty-six, with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his wife of fifty-nine years, Joyce (Hutt) and daughters Theresa (Dennis) Danroth, Connie (Creston) Stewart, Roberta (Garrett) Kusyk, Annette (Doug) Peterson, Arlene (Mitch) Peacock, Denise (Danny) Nobbs; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Louis (Margaret) and Leo (Patricia) and his in-laws Martha Kimpe, Nancy (Donald) McDonald, Gerald (Lillian) Hutt, Shirley Hutt, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, brothers Victor and Edward, and brother-in-law Lloyd Hutt. The family thanks the staff at Points West Hospice for the fantastic care they gave Dad and for the kindness and compassion shown our family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society. Prayers will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 7 at 8PM, and the funeral will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 8 at 11AM.
