Obituary of Lanie Pedere Bautista
April 5, 1972 – January 17, 2019
It is with heavy hearts we mournfully announce the passing of Lanie Pedere Bautista January 17,2019 in Calgary Alberta at the age of 46.
Lanie was born on April 5,1972 in Manila, Philippines and moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta in the spring of 1992. Lanie loved to travel, making many trips back and forth to the Philippines to visit family and friends. She enjoyed spending time knitting, tasting different types of foods, and watching the Filipino channel.
Lanie is survived by her two sons Alain and Patrick Lanthier; her daughter Melanie Bautista Magat; grandchildren Elyakim Lanthier, Brent Jules Magat Paras, Laijah Magat Paras; her mother and father Lydia and Herb Rix; two brothers, Dennis (Marti-Lynn) and Grant (Lexi) Rix; sister Lorena Bautista Lumpaz; nephew Mathew Lumpaz along with all of Lanie’s extended family in the Philippines.
Lanie made countless friends throughout her many travels forging close relationships. Strong Catholic faith was always a constant in Lanie’s life.
A Visitation will take place Friday, February 1st, from 7-9 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Center, 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at Grande Prairie Cemetery followed by a luncheon in Prairie Hall at Bear Creek Funeral Home.
