Arlene and family,
We would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to all of you. Junior liked to walk the old road when he came to his Cape Breton home. One day he stopped in for a visit and we had a great chat for over an hour. You could tell he was so relaxed and happy to be able to be back in his community catching up on the news. He will be missed by everyone.

Pete and family:
Losing a Father I'm sure feels life shattering or worse.
I want you to know I'm thinking of you deeply and wish that you soon find peace through your journey of grief.
And for those in your family who lost their grandfather:
It seems like our families are like solar systems and grandparents are the sun at the centre of it all. Everyone else seems to revolve around them, they are what holds the family together, without them it seems everything will fall apart. So when we lose one that's how it feels. But remember there's a strong force holding all the planets together and they will survive, they will become stronger if they keep that loving force strong.
Love Erin

Arlene, Peter and Ann and families - we are so sorry to hear this. Don has left us all with great memories. The hours we spent at the end of the rink watching Peter and the boys pursue their dreams, the countless cups of coffee, burgers and apple fritters at the auctions, and the great visits whenever our paths would cross. We were all blessed to get to know him,
So sorry we will not be at the memorial service. Hugs to you all and we will catch up in April.

Our hearts are aching for you all Arlene & family. Don was truly one of the very best you could ever have met in this life. For such a big man he was a gentle giant. We’ll remember his dry sense of humour, watching Pete play hockey, great memories. But most of all, his love for his family. Dail & I are saddened we will not be there for his memorial. Love to you all.

Arlene, Peter, Ann and siblings,
I was so very saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Although I had not seen Don in many years my memories went back to 1979 and the early 80s and our fun times in Grande Prairie. As 2 young couples far away from home we had a very special bond. So much laughter and love shared in your little kitchen.... a unique connection with Eastern roots. What a joy to watch you begin your family.
I feel very blessed to have spent time with you and your families on summer visits in Cape Breton. Although many years ago, those times will never be forgotten.
I remember fondly Don’s easy going nature, joy in the simple things in life, big smile and hearty laugh. Those were the days my friend... Rest In Peace
Love and prayers to you all, Linda xo

My heart is so saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Although I had not seen him for many years, my memories go back to our fun times with him and Arlene when we were both young couples in Grande Prairie in the early 1980s. Our bond was close due to my husband Mike being from Newfoundland and Don and Arlene being from Cape Breton. There was an instant connection and we embraced many yarns in the tiny kitchen full of laughter and love. What fun to watch them start their family and embrace new memories.
I was blessed to meet many family members over the years both in Grande Prairie and twice during summer visits to Cape Breton. My heart goes out to all of you. Don was a gentle giant with a big heart and a hearty laugh. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all. Linda xo
