I had the honor of having George as one of my closest friends...he was truly a one of a kind and genuine friend and like Will said ..would help any of his good friends out in a heartbeat. I was so glad to be able to help him find good work while he was here in Edmonton between his time at Crossbow Machine and Wilcox High Velocity ..both of which spoke very highly of George and his amazing skills as a problem solver and great Machinist. He always made the most difficult jobs look so easy and always turned out a great finished part .. which was always a true piece of art. Like Will i had the pleasure of working with George at Mid Western Machine in Grande Prairie for 5 years ... there are so many great times we all had and so many things i learned from George that i can never thank him enough for. Will was 100% right ..the two of them were dream team...we always wanted them on our shift as we knew the work would always get done quickly , and perfect. To hear how good of a Machinist he was just a couple weeks ago from his boss to where i sit now is very difficult and i will miss George alot.. I tip my glass of whiskey to you everyday George please look out for all of us that worked with you and i hope to see you in the next life.. To the Hembrow family i am truly sorry for your loss and our loss you all should be very proud of George and what he contributed to all of us and the Machining Industry...he was truly one of the best ... To Steph ... i know there were rough times as most people have myself included..but ive also seen you two at your best.. i cant say how sorry i am ..
I raise my glass to you George i will never forget you brother ...... cheers Mike Miles

kinggeorge (as i calmed him) is my husband will sturgeon’s best friend. an amazing friend he was as you can read in the post that will made for him. in the 9 years i’ve been with will, i’ve been blessed with a handful of hang outs with goerge. he was funny, fun, thoughtful and kind. i knew him more than i knew him if that makes any sense because not only did i have a handful of occasions to hang out with him, i’ve heard zillions of stories about the years they lived in the same city and were inseparable. they still communicated regularly right till the end and so i found i was asking how he’s doing to be checking up on him as well. he was and will continue to be someone we regularly talk about. i very much admire the amazing artist he was and will keep the few images he posted online in my phone photos. i’m looking forward to the tattoo will is going to get to honour george. i hope he has peace now.
we love you goerge and will never ever forget you. love one of your fans.

George was my best friend, still is .... I met George when I was 20 years old. He started at the shop I was working at Midwestern Machine works. We clicked instantly!! We were meant to roll together from day 1. We worked together, lifted weights together, party together, relaxed together, fought together, raced cars and motorbikes together. We built cool stuff together and dreamed big about future life. We also learned a lot lessons together. We went through a lot of crappy times together also. ha ha ha we pretty much grew up together in our 20’s. Out of all my friends George was the most selfless giving person in my life. He would help me fix my cars and rebuild my engines. Pay for food and drinks when we went places if I was short on cash. George taught me a lot about cars and all kinds of cool stuff. George and Myself were the Dream team at the shop !! There was nothing we could not get done on time and we were the best machinists In the Shop. I always wanted to impress George because I looked up to him as skilled tradesmen and mechanic. His knowledge of mustangs astounds me still!!! He knew everything.. I mean really everything ha ha ha. He was a Ford man 100%. He loved his crazy hyper active dogs ha ha ha Milo and Maty. George would always show me new tricks he taught especially milo all the time. He would tell me in one order of McDonald’s fries that dog could learn a new trick ha ha ha. He was right that dog was a machine and so smart. George was always there for me when I went through tough times. I lost my step dad And my brother and it destroyed me. I struggled and George was pretty much the only one that kept by my side 100% and never judged me or made me feel bad for struggling. He was my real true friend!! You only get one chance in a life time to experience such a greatness in friendship that we shared. I stuck with George right to the end of his days here with us all. We messaged back and forth all the time. My heart is saddened, I will miss George but the thing is I have so many vivid memories of him his image in my heart and mind will live with me forever. I pray George has found peace and his spirit his full of God’s peace and presence. I will always talk about you George and keep your amazing memories alive as long as I live!!!!!!!
Your good Pal
Will

Dear George,
I am so sorry that my memories of you are short and sweet. Unfortunately I did not get to know you as well as I would have liked being that you moved to Canada the year I was born. However, I was lucky enough to spend some time with your mum in South Wales when she came to visit and i got to know all of my cousins through her and her renditions of you all, which were very entertaining. We loved our visits with aunty Sheila , she was a such a character. I was lucky enough to finally meet you when I came to visit Canada with your mum's sister Christine, all of you welcomed us into your lives as if you had know us for ever. I will cherish that time I got to spend with you and your son Dylan and the rest of the family. I am just sorry that you never got to visit us in Wales so we could extend that welcome to you too, as we had talked about it. God rest your talented soul may you forever find peace in the arms of your mam George she loved you so very much.
Lots of love joanne xx
