Obituary of Allie Weegar
Our dear Mother went quietly to her reward after a long and abundant life of faithfulness, service, generosity, hospitality, tenderness and a bottomless heart of compassion. Matt. 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy.”
Allie was born in Grande Prairie and lived her entire life in Bezanson until her move to Heritage Lodge in 2011. She was a busy and productive farm woman who loved nothing better than long hours spent in the sunshine tending a beautiful yard and bountiful garden. She was devoted to family and friends and gave countless hours to community service through the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Home and School Association and CWL. Her door was always open and her table was often surrounded by loved ones who were nourished both by her hearty meals and her warmth and affection.
Allie’s memory will be cherished by her children David, Val (Terry) and Annette (Ron) and beloved Grandchildren Sandy (Lynn), Cathy (Laurie), Parri, James, Lisa (Wyatt), Michael (Michelle) and Darrin. She took immense delight in being the matriarch of 5 generations, having 11 Great-grandchildren and 10 Great-great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Bud Patterson in 1958, her husband Earl Weegar in 2001, her son Keith Patterson in 2015, daughter-In-law Rhea Patterson in 2012, as well as her parents, Tom & Nellie LaValley, and dear siblings Roger, Vernon, Lorna Jean and Irene.
We are very grateful for the comfort and assistance given by Theresa, Mavis and Janet, as well as all the family, friends and neighbours whose support allowed Allie to remain on the farm, and to the caregivers at Heritage Lodge, Grande Prairie Care Centre and Points West Living.
Funeral services for Allie will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 1 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bezanson, with viewing at noon. Interment will follow at Glen Leslie Cemetery
