Obituary of Stewart Gilbert Vance

January 11, 1985 – October 21, 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stewart Vance on October 21, 2016. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents; Mary Lou and Cec; brother, Graham (Caitlin); and uncles; Neville, Pat (Cathie) and Doug (Cheryl). He passed away too soon. His life began and ended in Grande Prairie. He died suddenly, and unexpectedly, of a heart attack at the age of 31. Stewart was well-loved in the community, and was passionate about his community, family, friends and animals. Stewart died a man who was happy with his life and who lived the life he wanted. His life was full, having owned and driven draft horses (what he called “real horses”), coached soccer, curled, sang across Canada and parts of the USA in a choir, was a “Big Brother”, supported a child through World Vision, volunteered with the Grande Prairie and Parkland Air Cadet squadrons, was President of the Peace Draft Horse Club, and was working as a Team Coordinator for 911 Industrial Response. He will be missed by all his life has touched. An informal gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 1 to 3 pm at the Entrec Centre at Evergreen Park. Donations in Stewart’s honour can be given to a local charity of one’s choice. Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742 www.bearcreekfuneral.com
